Overheating & Radiator Specs

Ok, basically I got a second hand radiator for an NG 3.0L manual and whacked it on. It seemed fine for the 15 minute run I took it for on Sat nite, ready for the Sunday morning bush bash :)

Dead wrong, about 6kms out from home it went nuts, heat indicated at over 3/4ths on the dial. I've tried cleaning it out with radiator cleaner, we've tired bleeding the valve to check for air pockets etc etc.

Still does not work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as after 7 hours of stuffing around with the car, I am about to take a hammer to it

Have you checked your clutch fan ???
You can buy replacement clutches from Autobahn for about $130 for the 3.0 V6.

Oh well, they gave me a new radiator. Fingers crossed this one will work without turning my bonnet into a BBQ :)

I know that you have said it's definately the Rad, but have you checked the thermostat?? maybe sticking?

Once the newer rad was put in it ran sweet as :)

Thermostat was not sticking as there was continuous flow through the system.....it did not seem to be inhibiting anything.
