grabbed a cylinder, solenoid and regulator from work today.
maesured up the original freewheel lever/plate.
should be a piece of piss to make myself, no more than 2 hrs machining.
anybody else thought about doing this themselves???

update, the plate that holds the gear is done, the flange that bolts to the gearbox is blanked out, just need to pitch out the 4 holes around the outside then 4 holes to mount cylinder then assemble and done.

what gear you using?

cylinder: festo advu-20-25-a-pa

solenoid: festo mfh 5-1/8

regulator: some SMC thing.

plate to hold gear: made from M200 tool steel

flange to bolt to gearbox: 6061 alluminium.

probably run 4mm air line.

the requered throw of the gear is near 20mm, the cylinder is 25mm so i will turn a nylon shim to limit the cylinder stroke.

not familiar with low mounts, do they require a shaft to be push/pulled or rotated??? sounds like a go'er

shaft needs to be rotated , was looking at using one of the swivel rotary drives under the dsr or dsm product range

I done it I had the cylinder made to my spec by SMC ($110) machined up the adaptor place and used a 2 position Parker 5 port soleniod valve and it works a treat with 2 micro buttoms/switches and a couple of relays.
