Not 100% sure on the engineering, but on the Rego, you will have to cancel the VIC rego and re-register in NSW. When I bought a truck in NSW and registered it in QLD, I just surrendered the NSW plates when I registered it in QLD. The NSW reg was automatically cancelled at that point and a refund cheque sent to the P.O.

again - QLD - you will need safety certificate to change the rego over. Whether they pick on teh mods or not I have no idea....

Matt,

This can go either way. I just went tyhrough all this on Monday. My Bro has an MK with a 308. He bought it in VIC registered & engineered. We then transferred it to ACT & they accepted VIC's approvals no worries. Now he has just moved to NSW. Failed his blue slip for a few things but the major one was "Egineering certificate required for engine conversion and power streering pump bracket".
Not happy with this I contacted their techo guys & was told the certificate was invalid because it quoted the incorrect Act to which the vehicle complied & did not meet the format of the NSW system. Flat refusal was the order of the day.
Nothing I can do as there is no appeal process.
If the Engineers certificate was issued in NSW to the current regs & nothings been changed then you might be ok but if its not then you may have to get another certificate for it.
