Hi guys,
A mate has SASed his Surf(with coils), including X-over steering, which uses the IFS steering arms.
My question: On a hilux, can these be bolted to a leaf spring solid front axle, so you don't have to buy the billet arms? Would they clear the leaves? I would fab the steering rods myself, and use either stock Nissan joints, or Rod ends (Heim joints) at the ends.
Thoughts, advice, recommendations most welcome fellas.....
Pat.

Re: IFS arms for solid axle X-over
If your talking about IFS steering arms as in the tie rod ends they are the same tapper as solid axle front but are only 16mm very weekbigpat wrote:Hi guys,

Hey Pat if thats mine, the only thing thats original from the IFS set up is the steering box, then everything from there is custom fab stuff. Don't muck around trying to fit bits & pieces to get hassels with handling down the track later on. Get CHEEZY to do it right first time for you and all you will have is every one else drooling and saying "NO WAY" when you go up, through or over the wicked sheit (as per last weekend ) .[/b]
Cheers

Yeah that was a cool ride last weekend! Its simply because I have great fabrication facilities at my disposal, I want to take advantage of it. Plus, I'm a tinkerer at heart . I think when the time comes, I'll get the high steer arms from Cheezy, the rest I should be able to sort out...
