Basicly, yeah.
I've got some rust issues in the seams that form the Gutter, and in the rear end, so i'm thinking of a soft top, still don't know what to do with the tray.
Baicly the truck is worth nothing other than parts ATM, so rather than part with it, I'm looking at having some fun with it....
I might just put some sort of cage on there and bob the tail real short.

Looking at your drawing, where you have the soft top drawn in, you may be able to fit a middie roof - it already has the angle in the roof, glass side windows, and should be the right size to fit up.
Just a thought

hey why don't u just make it a extra cab, with style side? plenty of room for the growing family and for the campin gear? and the cab will stay dry! and less road noise, so to speak!

bob it
put a high flatbed on it
build boxes (and or caged hounds?) under the flatbed for your gas bottles and tools

There's an unfinished troopy in wollongong very similar to this idea, if I can I'll get a pick of a real life conversion, might help to make your mind up before choppin it.

your photochopping makes mine look a little sad doesn't it..
Yeah, but i still have the dodgy roof rust to deal with.
( I had a dig in there yesterday, and I could actually put a screw driver through the seam on the gutter in a couple of places.
I guess that if I could get hold of a MWB roof, it could be a very good option.
does the 73 have the hinged windscreen like a 75 ute???

Hmmm, where does the rust start???? maybe the MWB roof, or maybe just chop the lot and make a buggy!! i will see if I can do a pic!

the rust starts at around the center of the B pillar.
I also have the classic troopy cracked A pillar on the passenger side, so it will need major surgery.
I have been thinking of finding a 75 ute folding widscreen, chopping off the tops of the doors, and fixing the widscreen to the roll bar rather than having any substantial A pillar

What about a 79ser roof cut they use the same pillars at the front and they go back alittle further then the 75 ser and you got the back window half done have got a few can e.mail pics if you like.

it would probably go on pretty easily, but I need it to be a dual cab, so I'll be cutting and shutting anyway...

The 73 does have the hinged windscreen surround like the utes.
