How often should I change the fuel filter on my TD5 defender?

I haven't touched it for 40k, but I read somewhere recently you should change it every 10k. But that is not what the LR tech told me.

Anybody?

i change oil, oil filter, fuel filter every 10k.
its a 200 tdi though and only gets used offroad.
i see a few rivers and lots of mud and dust so this maybe overkill but the parts aren't expensive
