Looking at doing a spring lift on my 92 single cab hilux, I want to go 2"-3" but i have been told i need to replace the torque rod (currently standard) with an adjustable one and a few mates have suggested new shackles, reasable pins, bushes, u-bolts and steering stabilizer. I can understand the need for new bushes with the springs and the torque rod, but do i really need all that other stuff?? Is here anything else i will need??

Also have been wondering about shocks, i have been leaning towards Rancho RS5000's for front and rear (cheapest ive seen is $130/shock) but was wondering whether to go the next step and get the 9000X adjustables. The ones im using at the moment are rooted so they definitely need replacing

replace torque rod if u got massive power and loose/soft springs, but spose it wouldnt hurt.

are u getting longer springs to lift? or reset old ones?

shackles are needed if olds are rooted other than that keep the olds.
if u are gettin old reset then the shackle position may have to be
changed to prevent inversion.

coloundra isnt that far from superior or the place up there.
plenty of advice an B.S to go around

Replace the rod if you are lifting, it will tear away the mount on the diff housing or pull the side of your chassis off (more common) if left std.

New shackles won't hurt cause the old pins are probably all pitted with rust anyway and will tear your new bushes to peices....

You shouldn't need new u-bolts unless the pack is really heavy/thick.

If the shockies are stuffed it would be fair to assume that the steering stabilizer has done as much work but if it isn't causing a problem atm make your own decision.

You might also want a dropped draglink? to get the steering geometry back to near normal, mine pulls to the left without it on ;)

Hope that helps..
