Im thinking of buying swapers but realise that there are different types such as muds, tsl, radial etc.
In a 31 inch which of the above tyres do people like more?
What price can I expect to pay? what are the pros and cons of the various designs? and where is a good place to buy them?
Thanks for your help.

Sam,
Check out
www.intercotire.com
I'd go for a TSL.
But don't get a size you'll regret, go straight for the 34's
Perhaps you could con Greg into selling his rims & tyres

I doubt 34" will fit under a 2 or 3 inch body lift otherwise I would go that way. If you think you can make it fit show me how and ill go for it.

any Idea on priceing for 31'-34'?

Im happy to trim if nessary but i cant see how 34's will fit under without mega amounts of lift or moveing the front diff forward.

I think greg is running them on 7's which are cut and reversed. Also have bead lockers
5.5 is really pushing it!

I kinda agree but I know that on a leafy they touch the springs. When he first put them on (hardtop days) he just adjusted the steering and didn't have offset rims. Later when he got new rims or something I think he cut and reversed. Which is the same as what grimbo has done.

His rims are 6's plus the beadlock so 6.5
I think a set of 34X9.5s on a stock sierra rim with a beadlock would be cool.
This would make them a 15X6

I'd stay with the more aggressive TSL or LTB personally.
Oh and you have pm

Hmmm I suspected that! Pity you live so far away coz I would give you a nice set of standard zook rims that have been cut and reversed. That would be trick with some bead lockers

If sam wants them I can get them shipped over here but it will need to be in the next few weeks.
They will need to be chromed for Sams application

Cool I'm happy to have them sent over. Will need to get the tires taken off. They are hammer tone green at the moment, not near as good as a bit of chroming

Locking rings around the outside of the tire to 'clamp' the tire to the rim so it wont come off at VERY low pressures.

There is a company in vic that sells tyres direct to the public, then you get them mounted / balanced as they are not rated - so this gets around the legal probs.
i think they are called exclusive tyres? or something like that.
I priced Q78's at about 285 a tyre, and a mate with a zuk priced 33's or 32's at about 230ish a tyre.
+ about 30 to get them balanced.
Dave.

why would you bother with a 31 swamper ??
You will have all the drawbacks of a swamper on the raod and very few of the benifits of a swamper offroad except in sloppy goop mud ..
Get lockers and gears before blowing your $$ on useless bling things like tiny swampers ..
And gurls are more interested in how long you can go over all terrains than they are in weird looking rubbers
