just wondering if anyone with a transfer case in a sierra 88 model or similar has had any trouble shifting from 4L back to 2H and getting stuck somewhere in 4N? any help would be great. cheers

as rb said, could be wind up, or even a worn shifter sheet, little nylon bush, $13.50 from suzuki parts.

the way i got it in gear last time was by taking out the gear leaver and getting a screw driver in there and getting a few mates to rock it with the hand brake on. has anyone had one apart? are they complex? because when i pulled the leaver out there was a heap of dirt and general crap in the top, and the "shifter sheet" where is that located? at the bottom of the leaver, because there wasnt one there at all. i was thinking of pulling it down cleaning it out.

bingo
The shifter sheet is a rubber ring that just presses into the base of the shifter, where the dirt and crap is
Go to suzuki and get one they're about $10
The old one is probably still there but really worn and small and covered in grease so you can't see it. Get a flat blade screwdriver and fish around a little. If not there it could be in the case
