got too much air in the dunes the other day, and my steering wheel went out of line, my brake cable stretched i think cos the brake pedal goes all the way down before working, and my handbrake light is always on???

Is the exlamation mark just for the handbrake on? its not also an engine warning light is it?

Cos ive taken apart the handbrake and i cant get it to turn off???

Merry christmas everyone

warning light is for foot brake and hand brake (on mine anyway)
You may have lost fluid from the brake reservoir, or busted a line. To see what brake is a prob, block off each line and see when pedal returns. (with a clamping on the rubber parts of lines)
foot brakes dont use a cable. they are hydraulic (clutch is a cable)
steering has probably bent the drag link and/or the tie bar, right at the front of diff.
Sierras are not dune buggies, speed kills them.
hope its nothing serious.

Be sure to check your Brake Master Cylinder is Full,

I did the same thing during a brain fart last week, Handbrake doesnt work in the first place so when the light wouldnt turn off I just assumed it was telling me my handbrake didnt work or I broke a wire or something. I drove for a week till I finally opened the bonnet and found my master cylinder was almost dry.

Merry Christmas

pull your instrument cluster out and check to see if any of the wires have come off from behind the cluster
