a mates 80

Im pressuming this has to do with weight distribution of the vehicle running without panards (there on way but seems it has been to slow).....??

From what i can see this is the only logical expllination. :?: :?:
spring lift is about 4 inches .....

cheers
Bingham

Um - single battery or dual??

I have a sag on the passenger front but I think thats a single battery issue or compression thing. I don't run panhards either.. hmmm

My 80 leaned and when I finally got around to changing the shockers, I swapped rear left to right and right to left coils to level it up. It was leaning to the drivers ( I Have spare wheel on back on RHS) and it made no difference so changed to fronts over the same way and it became all level.
Oh and i have panhards connected.........but think you mean sway bars??????

The diff wouldnt stay in the middle without a panny, or a frame etc.
Could be you need to swap side for side with the springs...or just pack the low one with x amount of packing...insertion rubber or similar cut to size :-)

nope i mean panards... the simple thing is that if of centre the weight distribution is of centre therefore more weight over one side therefore sagging..... well thats what i think anyway, Bateries and tyres in my opinion not a huge drama.... springs were fine when put in the slowly dropped..

any guru's with thoughts?

spring spacers already done!!

hes after a permanent answer not a band aid,,,sick of stuffing around..

Question... if he puts new springs in will they in time head the same way if he didnt get adjustable panards? if yes than thats what hes chasing if no then ?????????????????????????

"Bingham" how far out are the diffs to one side as you might be right with your thinking. In any case cetralising your diffs will give your mate better weight distribution for safer offroading.

the panhards are not far enough out to be the sole cause. (20-25mm) is significant but not the only factor. springs do sag over time especially if they are working close to their yeild point (the case with all performance well matched articulating suspension systems). springs like these are a disposable comoditity. racing etc you are lucky to get 12mths, so a few years of normal use and they are shot.

when you set up the springs you generally put the longer coils in the drivers side. so the shorter ones end up on the passenger side which is the direction of the lean described above. as the springs yeilds the weight balance on a truck with a high c of g begins to put more weight on the lower side compounding the problem.
as the springs are then forced regulary past the yeild point
the more the sag etc etc...

if you don't want sagging springs you need to go to a harder a rate spring which limits articulation hence defeating most of the point of a lifted truck.

man up and replace them if ya want a big truck that works. they are 195 - 250 a pair depending, which is a lot cheaper than the embarrasment of a leaning tower of landcrusier ;)
