I don't want to put a downer on your trip to stradie but I think you might enjoy Moreton a lot more as I did. Any way let us know what you think of stradie as they might have opened the tracks back up since we went there.

"Closed" as in "nobody allowed in" or as in "have to walk from the bitumen like all the 2wd owners." :?:

closed as in NO access - walk like everybody else. Not fun in the sun :?

I used to go to Straddie a fair bit - but since the closures my trips have died off a bit and then closing Blue lake!

The only reason i'd go now is to go fishing at the Pin, and stay down there. Stay away from the top end all together. just fish and sink piss!!

True! My family and I used to go for 6 weeks every Christmas without fail. Mum and Dad have been doing this since before I was even thought of but ever since the Redland Shire Council started moderating the place it has gone down hill.

Years back it was unreal! Tracks and camp grounds everywhere. Now, you have to book to get a comp spot because they closed down half of the decent areas for revegetation and so on........

It's ordinary nowadays........... Everywhere else seems to be heading that way now too. Soon Frazer will have bitumen roads and traffic lights and high rise buildings and stuff.............

i was there at christmas, and spoke to one of the rangers while getting my beach pass, and she said that its unlikely blue lake will be re-opened again for quite some time (years) because the local native populace have taken a legal interest in it. Not as the sign suggests, anything is more dangerous than it used to be. Pity about the tracks, but we do need to eventually ban all these evil 4x4s. :?

you mean they have seen its worth $$$ and they can make money out of it, even though they havent been near it for 10,000years?
Exactly same as Menai?
