Looked to be steering OK this arvo.

I was more scared about what might be under some of the other trucks on the road after seeing that.. Man, I saw this black short 40 coming the other way on the highway, that was a scary looking bit of gear ;)

I am gonna run a draglink with a *very* slight z-shape to it soon & I don't see any problem with that... Ideas??

Dont need a Z bar, I have high steer for GQ sitting in my shed, just finished the machine work yesterday, puts your steering arm almost flat, should help with bumpsteer. :D :D

Bumpsteer is actually OK. The slight bend was just a "while we are it it why not get the tie-rod ends flat" sort of thing. I am having a drag-link & tie-rod end made up to take the big cab-chassis rod ends.
Show me some pictures of your high steer.. Are you changing the position of the tie-rod as well or just the drag-link??

And weren't you going full hydro??

by Cheezy4x4
Changing pos of both, and no Im not going full hydro as it can not be engineered. Im going with hydro assist that can be. 8) 8)

BTW my hydro assist is almost finished, just waiting on the ram.

Are you moving the tie-rod to the front?? Is the drag-link going to clear the chassis rail when the pas. side is at full stuff? Are you tapping the stansard nissan box for hydro? Too many questions? :silly:

Yes to many questions !!!.
I could tell you but you know the story.
If you are interested see me at Woodpecker. :D

HEY YOU TWO! Shouldn't this be in the 'kn' Nissan Section?

I was more scared about what might be under some of the other trucks on the road after seeing that.. Man, I saw this black short 40 coming the other way on the highway, that was a scary looking bit of gear

BTW Ive seen that black 40 and it's actually dark blue. It has Negative caster for extra pucker factor. Doesn't matter 'cause the owner's an a$$ anyway. Apparently it always steers better when heading North!?!?!?!? Go figure.

The Pirate discussion touched on why people insist on painting their stupid shit bright yellow. Mark Twain said something to the effect of better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt. In a similar vein, there seems to be two levels of idiocy when it comes to scary steering design and execution; 1) the sort of idiot who would do something like this to his truck, and 2) the sort of idiot that would do something like this to his truck, then paint it bright yellow and post pictures of it on the internet!

hah, no , i havent even met the fella so reserve that judgement for then.

I'd say there's a difference between painting the body yellow and painting suspension parts yellow , and chrome ?

Has BJ got any yellow paint on his suspension :?:
