40s are cool
my only problem with em, is when to stop doin things to it.
my latest brainstorm, ha!, is to cut the chassis off behind the seats and just have a tube frame.

I would probably use this truck as a learning curve as I have minimal to no mechcanic experisne.....or spelling

They are excelent to learn on with the help of a manual and forums like this one. I try and do every thing myself and only stuff up 20% of the time
, but thats how you "learn'

I disagree
Mine is a weapon offroad, strong as, no rust, granted its uncomfortable (but that may have something to do with plastic race seats
) and she is beautiful
Bighazza, you never regret owning a 40 and most people have a story or 2 about a 40 they used to own

I disagree
:
i honestly disagree too, but i had to say something different. mine has some rust though, but a 30 year old gearbox and diff are about hte only strength related issues i;ve had (what's expected) can't say mine is the ducks guts offroad, but has got me most places i have tried... and that's s lowly improving.. and fully padded race seats in mine make it comfy ish...
as for good to learn on, b4 i owned my shorty, i didn't know which way to turn a bolt to tighten or loosen, could change a tyre, but could do nothing else (where does the water go, where does the oil go?) but borrowed dad's tools, got the manual out, and got to work when mine started showing up problems... so far i have successfully fixed, a busted output shaft bearing, a head gasket, replaced a whole gearbox, fixed a diff, fixed the free wheeling hubs, diagnosed and replaced stuffed uni joints, and a few other mods along the way... they are great to learn on.

mate, why dont you buy shorty40s????
his plastic seats are actually comfy! they bend a little and absorb the bumps a bit. I dig it, if i could sell a kidney i would buy his, but i do have a loyalty to mine....
if you buy his man you will save big $$ in the long term, its read yto go and go hard.
although i have heard rumours one guy managed to get it stuck once....
