Reconditioning Axle Splines

Any one know if it is possible or worth it dollars wise. Maybe take the longs and turn them into shorts.

I enquired about this a while ago with a company called Zenith Engineering in Brisbane. Was looking at getting them to re-spline and strengthen a set of rangie 10 spines to fit Toy centres.
In the end it worked out being $500 a set for the work IIRC

A set of new alloys are not much more $600ish. What are replacement 2nd hand ones worth?
