Guys, I may be wrong but as far as I am aware this is only a kit to reposition the handbrake cable pulley that is normally located on the firewall.
The kit moves this pulley behind the firewall to give more clearance for engine conversions, usually for the RH rocker cover of a V8. Its only a steel bracket etc.

I just dont understand where the cable then runs?
Does the V6 4Runner have the cable on the inside of the firewall?

Yes I know what it does, but I want to see a pic of one to see if its worth making one myself or just spending the $$$ and buying the marks one as I NEED to do this to my POS.

Just had a look at their site, the kit is only $65. Think I`ll ring em next week and just order one, not werth the rooting around for that little bit of $$$ as long as it does the job its meant to.

I've seen one and its not worth $65
I don't think you get anything to remount the front section of the handbrake lever to its bracket so you will have to do some rooting around in that area
Whatever distance it moves the pulley back also means the actual handbrake lever will also stick out that extra distance.

Mate the "whole" handbrake moves back so its a matter of spacing out the existing front mounting point under the dash the same distance etc.
The existing mounting point is a plate etc off the handbrake which is bolted by two bolts to the solid dash. bend it cut it or whatever
to take up the distance.
I didn't like Marks arrangement and I only needed a few extra mills as insurance so I did it my way
Remove the handbrake pulley and handbrake. I ground off the two studs on the handbrake mount that go threw the firewall.
I then ground the firewall section where the pulley mechanism sits so that the pulley mechanism can be fitted from behind the firewall and stick threw just enough so the cable operated as per normal.
I then used a couple of big nuts as spacers and fitted some longer bolts in place of the studs. Bolts up as per normal except now most of the pulley is now behind the firewall. Sealed it with selastic and I spaced the front handbrake cable mounting point the same and bent it to line up with its existing bolts holes.
I just took this pic and the distance is not clear but I have around 25mm clearance from the rocker cover.

Thanks dude, but I need a bit more then that
and I don`t want the lever sticking out the extra distance of the pully setup
Might go around some wrecking yards tomorrow and have a look at some floor mounted handbrake levers. Does anybody know of one that bolts to a FLAT!!!!!!! floor?

All I did was make a couple of long nuts to go on the studs and then used 2 screws to hold the bracket to the firewall . The screws also held a plate over the hole left by removal of the bracket. I had to rearrange the rear mount by the handle. The extra length inside the cab was not an issue.

Like I said on the phone today Tony, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you happen to notice if the plate on the outside of the fire wall with the gromit and 2 nuts on it was attached to the wall or do you thiunk it would fall off once the bolts are undone on the inside? Not a big deal if its attached.
Might give prick, I mean Nick a ring and see how much from him

You will prob need the Pedal Assembly as well to run the master Cyl You will also need all the hard lines and Resivour. I know who will be pulling this off and i wish i was there to watch his reaction when he realises how much work is in it
It wont be Nick.

and the $65 question is.... was whatever came off the V6 lux worth the effort?
If so.... Nick can you personally remove an assembly for me? I don't want to risk the apprentice damaging anything....
