2005 patrol specification question

Anybody here work for nissan or know the answer to this one ?
The new patrol, i know on the last model the 4.8l had bigger brakes than the others (slightly) in the current model are they all the same ?
ie 3.0, 4.2, 4.8 all have identical brakes ?

I was thinking a new 3.0l but am not almost considering the 4.8 or 4.2 (if i could get a decent price on a 4.2l)

3.0td has 316mm vent disc on front 330mmdisc rear
that was out of 4x4 australia mag
4wd monthly state the two deisels in the dx run the same brakes but the top donk models have abs
sorry cant find any info on the 4.8 but thought the spec was the same as previous model

To complement the high-performance TB48DE engine, braking ability and feel has been improved on petrol-engine Patrols variants. Brake rotor size has been increased to 316mm x 34mm at the front and 330mm x 18mm on the rear to maximise the cooling performance of the brakes.

In addition, the brake calliper piston area has been increased to improve braking performance and provide a more solid, direct braking sensation - from

36 sq cm to 41 sq cm on the front and from 18 sq cm to 20 sq cm on the rear.

Diesel engine Patrol variants also enjoy the security of four wheel disc brakes - 306 x 32mm on the front and 316 x 18mm on the rear - with semi metallic brake pads.


Thats the info i found, valid for 2002, i guess it may have changed now in 2004/2005.

So it seems since 02 they brought the diesel into line with the bigger brakes But still unsure about wether with ABS they run a diffrent brake packeg :?:

ABS uses the same size disks etc according to my info.
Was just one of those little things i was looking out for, would have hated to have smaller brakes just because it was a deisel, especially with larger wheels.

I hear a lot of people complain about patrol brakes but even teh GU series 1 i had was great so who knows, proberbly has a lot to do with what type of pads etc.

Well on my 97GQ the brakes were crap :x so i replaced all discs with slotted ones.
In the near future im also redoing all the rubber brake lines with braided steel lines (when you put a lot of presure on the peddle rubber bolges and you loose pressure at the disc so braid metal stopes this)
Cost wise anything from $50.00-----$100.00 per line
Apparently toyotas do not have rubber lines(80series) thats why they have better braking then patrols So im led to beleive so i could be mistaken?
