which size would provide the most backspacing 8s or 10s ?
would the 10s be to large for a 31x10.5 tyre?



im lookin at running BFG muddies LT325/60R15
hoping to run on 15x10 steelies backspaced As much as Possible

8's would be too big for 10.5's! You would run them on 7's.

Backspacining is independant of rim width.

As an example, you could have a 8" rim with a -60 mm offset which would give about 50 mm backspace (approximatly Toyo standard), or you could have a 6" rim with a +45 mm offset giving a backspace of about 130 mm (Kia Sportage standard).

Best bet is to take a tape measure when looking at wheels, after doing accurate measurements of what you need on you vehicle.

31X10.5 is hardly a tyre size that will make you worry about rim offset.

BS I`ve had about 4 sets of 31`s on different 4x4s over the years and have only ever had 8 inch rims. I think 8 are advised for 10.5.

The 10's will be able to have more backspacing if cut and re-welded than an 8 because of the increased rim width.

There is a 325/60R15 BFG AT fitted to a 15x10 at Fourbys in Moorooka (3892 2766). Looks Sweet and fits well. If you run this size I'd go the 15x10.... if you stick with the 31x10.50R15 I'd go with the 15x8.
What stud pattern are you looking for?
My memory isn't the best.. ...... If it's a six stud there are two offsets in most 15x8 Whites out there, commonly seperated into Navara (sits in more) and Landcruiser (sits out further). Generally speaking these are around a 3 & 5/8" back spacing. I know of a 15x10 white with the same back space which basically means an extra 2" outward.
5 stud is going to reduce your options a fair bit. Mostly they only have one offset/ back spacing.

the extra width on a 10 is all on the outside, so you still have the same amount of rin width on the inside as an 8. The 10 will look like it has more spacing but infact it has the same as the 8 and will never get more then even a cut and rewelded 8.

Which Toyota comes with a 8" -60 offset rim? Or even close to -60?

Flame suit on if I'm wrong, but for the price difference with 8's and 10's, you could prob find a cheap set of 15x8's, get em flipped, and still have something with a wider track, as you basically get a 1.5 to 2' spacer, and still have money in your pocket than what you pay for 15x10's.

15 x 8 are around $60
15 x 10 are around $110

thats just for white steelies. I haven`t priced rims for a few years but thats what is was last time I look.

thats only 2 inch backspace i think u have your numbers mixed up

-26 offset is the widest ive seen thats around 4 inch bs on a 8 inch rim

8" - 28's
10" - 44's
are the max you can buy off the shelf. However for a 325/60 you'll need a 10 unless you want to pop beads.

15x8 offset to f100 $61 per wheel
