Y61 & Y60 differences

Hi all,
Found out recently that my 96 patrol ute has a y61 motor - completely different rear main seal (found out friday afternoon
, but there was a seal available ex Perth 
). FRom what I understand it is not recommended to fit turbos to post 95 N/A Y60 motors due to issues with strength of motor, BUT I think the Y61 N/A motor has a stronger bottom end and I may be able to turbo it (Yay more power) can any nissan mechanic confirm or deny this information
