The steering arms come with replaceable ball joints, where the genurine ones dont


While on the phone, I asked about replacement Rear arms

$178 with no bushes.

I thought the one we fitted was Nicks spare? He couldnt find yours, it was too small...

I ordered the new arm this morning.. hes gotta make one up, as they had none, will call me when its ready.

yea one day will get the rear arms... no spare $ at moment

Superior Engineering is making adjustable draglinks and tie rods from 32od 4140 chromemoly with beefy greasable tie rods for $265 Zinc finish and comes with a bracket for steering stabilizer etc.

Would take about 50 tonne/sq inch to bend em too!!!

Frieght would only be about $15 or so.

Just thought I would let ya know.

Also is doing HD lower arms too. Mine are 40 OD 6mm wall mecaval and are fuckn beefy.

Got the new arm.. Its so much more than the old one in every aspect.!

Although it had different mounting points for the steering damper - he showed me, it mounts to the bashplate under the radiator (the one that bent the oil lines bazzle), which seems very strange.

Any tips on what to do when fitting them? Anything that needs lubing or do's or donts?

My 2c I run a standard front arm with a spare on the Cargo Barrier. The rear is a heavier Cheezy one. Would rather have the front arm bend. 13 Years have only bent two Niisan ones and broke a rover one. Better than breaking a steering box.

Remove ols arm.
Wind steering wheel left to right till centred. OE mark on shaft in middle should be at top.
Take off your wheel and put back in middle.

Fit arm.
Drive down rd. Adj ball joint lenghts until S Wheel is central again. Grease new joints etc etc
