Life was good, life was fun…RIP pos zook. May your new owner treat you to regular oil changes and new filters, unlike me.

Yes the zook has gone to a better home. This should actually make me a 100% web wheeling pad whore.

The plan is that I will know be wheeling with the new owner, I think we will take it in turns to drive and nav. And I’ll just steel it when he’s working away. It’ll have push button start so I don’t need to steel the keys : (

The plans for the new build up follows.

-Unrego’d
- Lid cut, and full cage
-Dove tail front and rear
-Stinger front
-Lux diffs (Rear is IFS, 5.29 Hiace centre, locked. Front standard lux with ifs hubs, hiace centre and locked.
-IFS lux rears up front, reverse shackle
-IFS lux rears in the rear, or maybe custom
-15 by 10 rims with bead locks

Haven’t chosen tires yet but we are thinking 38.5/15/15 boggers or 39/13.5/15 Irocks. Finding it very hard to decide and I haven’t seen much about the Irocks. The budget for tires is $500 dollars a piece, so 40 inch MTR’s are out of the question : (

What's your thoughts people

It has already started! Shane came and picked it up yesterday (explains why I didn't see you) I will be selling tyres, diffs, springs, shocks, rims etc etc
Keep this chat in PM or call me tonight.

Oh forgot we are most probably going full hydro steering

The plan sounds pretty good quick question where are you going to use it?

If you are going the Iroks you could probably go a 8" rim instead of the 10". Will you be going longfields or the like to cure the Hilux birfield isue as they are some pretty big tyres

Yes well we know that this is going to be a problem, and arn't 100% if they are going to be strong enough. We may even change the front diff depending if we can still get 5.29 R&P. I have read that the haultech boy's have sorted something solid out and has been working well on the qlders rigs. I think we will be investergating that. I'm hoping that we won't have to many probs due to the little motor and light weight.

We were looking at MQ diffs but the R&P just wasn't low enough.

Most of the driving will be in rocks on private property (where my mate lives). We will also trailer it further south and play on all the head lands near the coast.

Shane, the one with the jeep on 37's. He was jealous of the zook so he bought it

Well my biggest concern is that the 1.3lt is going to fall very short of power. I’m thinking to run such a big tire I will need the gearing.
The idea 5.29’s was taken from Gonads rig and his X-sidekick. They were running 37’s and 39’s with this gearing and a crawl ratio of 118/1.

From what I understand your using 4.56’s but have the added advantage of more power. In reality this would have suited us to but we don’t want the extra cost of a motor conversion and we didn’t want a heavier chassis/car. (thought about a Rangie chassis at first).

We were thinking coils for a while, then when we looked at Duncan’s the other day we realised that much work was A) beyond us and B) expensive. We then went back to the drawing board, thinking about the setup. After being influenced by members of the POR, I was able to convince Shane leaves would be suitable. Hopefully we will be able to keep it really low!

Already got the 6:1 and i don't really wanna change. Also the 8:1 will need trimming in the box, and is also getting fine toothed.

We might just try the standard gears. But if gonads run 5.29's what the chances of us breaking them. From what I have seen he drives it hard.

Like I said I sold the rig to a mate. He will be the one forking all the cash out. I'll just be helping with the build and I will definately help him break it ;)

Now where to buy the tyre's from..#scratch chin*

sounds pretty sweet dude....

so are you plannin on comping this at werock etc, or just for playing around with?

Well as it is owned by my mate he will make the final decision. But I think we will only wheel it for fun. I’m the competitive type, I did enough loosing when I raced BMX. Also the chances for use to get any comps in WA are pretty slim. WA has one comp a year at the moment, and even though there is talk of more comps they are also saying max tire size of 36â€
