Hi,
Anyone know the largest size of All terian (proberly BFG) tyre that will fit a stock 2001 Pajero. Also if I gain 1.5 -2 inch through a suspension upgrade can I also put larger size tyre. I would like to know the maximum size. Thanks

Hi Jimmy

People in the Qld Mitsubishi Club are running 285/75-16 (33") on NM Pajeros, but I'm not sure about suspsension mods, and they also need 8" wide rims. 265/75s (32") fit the standard 7" rims with no problems.

Cheers,

Scott

Jimmy,

I have fitted 32" Mongrels with the old white steel rims (off NH) with 3"lift they just hang past the guards (looks great) some times just grab the flares but no drama, I think with std supension 32" (AT) would be max
have fun.

NH wheels have offset 2-3" less than Gen 3s require. This has increased your track, and is probably the reason you're clipping your guards. Wheels with the correct offset (few and far between) should be better.

Thanks,
It would be nice to put on bigger tyres but I don't want to go changing rims and throw the odo out of whack so it looks like 265/75. Also I like the balance and handling etc so I don't want to over modify especially when my missus has to drive it around (if only I could make her drive her own 4by). Does anyone know some simple mods that can be done and/or suggest a build order. Heres my plans for it:
Tyres & Suspension
Exhast upgrade(extractors)
Bullbar
Snorkel
Remove rear seat for more below floor storage.
Cheers

I know a dude with an NM with a custom 3" suspension lift running 33"s (skinny) BFG AT's on the factory alloys with no rubbing at all. I think they are a 285/75/16 which measure out to 32.9x11.3".

265/75's are a good size tyre that will fit on standard alloys.

If your still begging for more, then jump to the 255/85. Not too many manufacturers cover this size, but BFG, Maxxis and a couple of others do.

The set up I used on my 2007 Swb was:

Lovells H/D Springs allrounds (CFR31HD and CRR31HD??? Memory shot)
Lovells Struts and rear shocks.

Total lift when new was 85mm and settled to 70mm after some months.
Great setup and would recommend highly.

Able to run 285/75/16 (33x11.5) without any rubbing.

Can be done and works well.
