Whats the trick? Removing front springs.

Ok,
I'm getting all my springs reset tomorrow and I got the rears off fine. Now the front, what a pain in the arse
I've got all the nuts off and I can't get the bolts / shackles out of the damn thing. I'm guessing it is because I have to jack the ute up so that it takes the pressure off the spring? (Easier said than done when you are working by yourself with one jack and the rear has no suspension... not sitting on the ground though
) Or am I missing something?
It's for a RN36....

get a pry bar between the chassi and the spring up near the eye of the spring and pry towards the ground and have another pry bar priseing the shackle out u will get it after a while

Front pins have a backing plate with two 12mm bolts holding it to the chassis, try undoing them and removing it.
On the shackles.........
The pins have splines and are meant to stay on one side of the shackle. Try rmoving the inside plate of the shackle instead. One side is a real beatch, can't remember which side though, you will have minimal space to get a swing at the bolt/shackle assembly.
battle on mate, I've done it 3 times now and about to do it again, what a pita job eh

to start you need to susport the front off the ground by the rail and use a jacks to lift it up and down to get then off if is not level {the diff} it is very hard to get off and you have to do both side at the same time.
dont try and lift one side and do that and then do the other it doesnt work

Oh btw, the bodgey way I do it without proper tools is that I used the std yota scew type jack between the axle and the chassis. Be very very careful cause yuo need to have the jack on a lean to do this, it is pretty dangerous really but has worked for me a few times

I put stands under the chassis rails and take the weight of front of lux, blocks under diff, undo plates, then remove springs, piss easy. I also remove steering draglink as this can get in the way when I'm workin, and undo bottom of shocks.

Ok, thanks... Keep the tips coming. I think the problem was that I was trying to lift one side off at a time. I'll grab another jack and get the whole front off the ground.
BTW... I did have the 12mm bolts off, thanks for the idea
I had to take them off for the rears, so if I didn't do it for the front I really would be kicking myself!
Whilst I'm here... Anyone got some longer shocks since I think I'll need them with a 1.5" lift? Or will any other vehicles fit?
