Hi all,
Just getting round to mounting my fire extinguisher from xmas but not to sure where to put it. Ideally I want to have it in the passengers footwell attached to the chair mounts but not sure if you can purchase the brackets premade or make them urselves?
Any suggestions/pics would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Paul

Every extinguisher I've had has come with its own brackets, which simply screw into wherever you want.
Maybe try contacting the manufacturer to see if yours should also have a bracket.

Mines is just a 1kg Dry chem. Which is just mounted with the supplied bracket onto the kick panel on the passenger side. This is in a GQ.

in my GQ daily roader, ive gotta ind a spot for one yet.

Place it so you can reach it from the drivers seat when you're hanging upside down in your harness

Looking at that pic id say home fab'd! Handy spot for it, this is where I will mount mine when I get around to getting one! Id just screw it to the floor with mounts supplied as others have said but if its late model then those moulded floors may be a pain in the....
Cheers

In a GQ a 1kg fits nicely between the centre console and the gear stick

Are you guys doing this just in case or because you require for competetion ?
I know for cars CAMS require 2kg of dry chem, so 2 x 1kg units and must be mounted in arms reach of driver. Usually in front of seat seems to be best.

Nope.. just in case.. i know of one person who had an engine fire come out of nowhere so you never know when you (or someone else?) might need one.
oh and the braket is mounted using two 50-70mm hose clamps over the roll bar.

I mounted mine (in the 60 series) accros the trans tunnel just behinde the gearsticks, makes it nice & easy to reach for both driver & passenger.

Mine was on the roll bar in the rear, stupid place to mount it as I always had trouble getting into the back door.
The go would be as you say, under your seat... it's would always be in easy reach then.

mine is.... in a box waiting for me to get another 4WD
but in the bundera I had 2 - one beside the drivers seat, one in the cargo bay. make sure you can reach them with the doors closed and your seatbelt on, and buy an extra one and learn to use it before you need it to put out the fire under your dashboard.

Mines down next to me between the seat and the door.
I'd love to mount it on the roll bar where everyone could easily reach...but then with a soft top I figure I'd just be waiting for someone to easily reach it and set it off in the cab...
