I just replaced the coil in my rig (Bosch MEC717) and I thought all would be sweet.................. :x

Now the ^$@^%$# thing will start and run for a few seconds then it dies.

Start again for a few seconds and dies...........repeat process until p!ssed off :x :x :x

The top fuel filter goes from about 3/4 full to almost empty during these few seconds of running before it dies.

Both filters are only about a month old.

Tried putting the carby back to the original settings - no luck (I can't get it to run long enough to tune it  )

Could it be the fuel pump (if so how can I check it)

If not the pump, what else could it be ?????

Not sure

It looks as though it came with the engine (Holden 253 V8 Red)

Try disconnecting fuel line from both sides of pump. Then get mower tin of fuel and start it syphoning into the carby. See if you can start car and keep it going. If you can, then its a good guess its the fuel pump, or a blockage in the tank or fuel lines.
