Who in Oz sells full hydro steer setups, or could put one together for me?

Just want to talk to someone about setups, $'s etc....

This MAY be for a GQ based buggy thingy...

That's what everyone is using and it's not cheap! Somewhere around $1200 (I think) for the orbital valve, $200 for a ram and probably $200-300 in lines and fittings - that's assuming you already have the pump on the motor.

i bought mine through overkill, it is nothing special, just forklift or tractor stuff.
from memory it was around $800 for the ram, the orbital valve and the little adapter doodad to weld to your steering shaft.
it has worked flawlessy for about 8 months or so now. the only thing i would change is to use a valve with a quicker ratio (less turns lock to lock).

oh yeah, lines are dear. mine came to nearly $500 for the 4 lines. the guy did come out and measure it all up and work out the fittings for that price though..

I know you asked for local stuff but try suppliers in the USA.
The guys at ABT4x4 can help you out with parts.
Ask them to hook you up with some of the same hydro gear that Shane is getting for the Firetruck.

I don't know how other peoples hydro is setup but I watched the Tuff truck video the other day and the amount of time Antunac has to turn the steering wheel to make his truck change direction is crazy.

No idea how his hydro is setup either but it didn't look pretty.
Maybe he likes it like that
I noticed at Woodpecker he was running a forklift knob thing on his steering wheel so he could turn it with one hand
Does he run fork lift stuff?

How many turns do other people have from lock to lock?
What sort of setup are you running?

they all do kits for hydraulic steering, basically just depends on your application.

Geez Deano it looks like your inspired. I damn hope your going to use another car as a base coz your rig is so clean still!

I know Overkill had made his own setup on Aztec. Have a look at the mag his featured in. I’ll send you a copy. He used a ford power steer pump.

As for the valves have a look at marine stuff, it might be interesting.

the pump on my rig is off a xf falcon i believe, heaps of guys off pirate use them they seem to work well and are cheap as. im buying one tomorrow as mines worn out ( the original pump off the aztec), and its costing me $75.

im going to try a mod when i put it back on to increase the flow rate ill keep ya's posted on how it goes.

found the receipt last night. it was a bit more than i thought, but still very well priced.

i run the nissan GQ pump. they put out 1490psi and can be had with direct mounted (TD/TB42) or remote mounted (RB30) resevoirs....
