Looking for information on rear disc conversion for Vitara

ok, its either the search thing doesnt work properly, or i'm not good at searching, i looked through about 10 pages, and couldn't find much.

i'm sick of my drums not working cos of all the mud and rocks and stuff.

has anyone done such a conversion? or will be doing one? or has experience with this? i know its not the same as a sierra one, cos the sierras have a tail shaft hand brake, where the vits have a drum one. doesn't matter to me, cos i dont have a h/b or rear brakes at that at the moment, just been leaving it in gear and turning the front wheels towards the gutter.

my rego runs out on the 14th, so the vit will be off the road for a couple of weeks, will be installing some stuff then.

and on top, i have to get an inspection done, so i need to have working brakes and hand brake, and i need to take out my body lift, and strut spacers to get it all legal again.

i'd really like to do a rear disc conversion, and i may have enough for one, but i just need a little more info.

can or should i use Vitara front discs on the back as well? or should i get smaller discs? what about caliper options, what will work? i also know that i may need to make a bracket for the caliper, and something else to hold the axle in too. backing plate? i've also heard of people just machining down the rear drums to fit inside the discs and use longer wheel studs.

thanks for any info/advice or help.
(and search nazi's, forgive me if i didn't search hard enough)

Steve.

I looked into this when i had some rear brake troubles with mine.

Snake racing do a kit for serrias, that im told can be adapted for a vit. You also need to fit a tailshaft handbrake.

It all worked out too $$$
I just fixed up my drums and learned to live with it...
