Just wondering how many K’s there GQ has done and what the compression of the motor is like? I had a scary problem with mine a few weeks ago when one of my cylinders dropped out (number 5) fixed the problem with some Nulon Lifter Free. Pheww…. I was told to start using lighter oil. Anyways forgot the compression of mine think it was 145-150 is that about right for 11/92 213,000 K’s on gas for about 4 years now.

Hate to scare you, but when I checked my last motor, which ran on premium ULP, I had readings from 160-180 dry & warm, and up to 200 after adding 4 squirts of oil.

They are tough blocks and even though I later drove it for 6 months with a blown head gasket, 3 of those months with water oil soup in the sump, the bottom end is still good and going to get rebuilt, head was rooted though, the water jacket had corroded into No6 cylinder. I just dropped a s/h motor in to fix.
