Who actually has snake/3rds production arms fitted on their patrol on this board?

slight modification

I have a set of nether but have not got them fitted to the truck as they are for sale in my shop. I use drop brackets and they are awsome with a little down fall of clearence which I have not noticed.

They are for a 6 inch lift. They come with genuine bushes and are only $890 but will offer to give a discount if you carry my sticker on your rig for atleast a year if you are interested. Can provide photos.

i was thinking of going to go and get 3rds myself when i do my lift but be good to see what else is out there

how do u find the flex with these does the GQ flex up nicely and how does it behave on road i.e. castor is good or average

Because i'm wanting to do a 5-6" lift but wanting to make sure its still driveable on road.

Mate, both my father and myself are running 6" lifts in a GQ and a GU, we started with castor plates, and found they were not the best, we have moved to Wizard Drop Boxes, and we do not have any dramas any more, the only time you will find the on road drivability up to shiat is when bushes wear out, or your wheel balance is out,

so aslong as your bushes are up to scratch and your balance is right, you wont have an dramas, at the moment my blance is out, and i have a shimmy at 60km/h,

if i had the cash id be more than happy to try out the dropped arms, but to to finacial restraints at the moment, im going to hold off

I ran wizzard on the GQ and find it is good, a mate is running snake on his GU and swears by them. they are rubbing somwhere tho.....thee is a thread on snake arms in tech

The drop arms (pictured above somewhere) are made for a big lift and are different shape than your factory ones, thus they realign your diffs properly, the drop boxes relocate the rear of your standard arms down lower (ie: roughly lower the rear bushes the same distance as the springs raised the chasy) to even every thing out!!!

I've got 3rd's arms but I need to do a thorough test on them to see if there is any benefit. I'm letting the bushes soften a bit first.
A couple of things I can tell you are;
1) Drives better than with the bushes.
2) I have a new clunk under the car since fitting them.
3) The grinding in the front end wasn't chopped out bushes, to be cured by new drop arms (not have to replace castor correction bushes every 8 months), but a badly fitted drivers side spring courtesy of Manellis.

i did actually have pics of this, will see if i can chasethem up.

I've got them.
Steering is fine. Articulation is fine. No shuddering at any speed I can reach (not that quick anyway )
Don't hit anything they aren't meant to.

which radius arms u thinking of getting? 3rds or snake

i spoke to someone down here and they said not to get 3rds but to get snake ones because at the end of the radius arm opposite end to the bushes the 3rds one seem to come loose.

im lookin more at snake ..
i don't like the sounds of the solid mount at the chassis and the piviot in the arm for high speeds

hoonz, got a set that have been fabricated for me getting passed by engineer atm, 3 mates have been using them for a year or more, one of which was in the outback, all like them, all get more front articulation from them , all had no probs. pm me if you want a set at a realistic price

Sorry. I've got the Snake Racing ones.
No pics handy but may be able to find some, or take some soon.

I think someone here was saying on another thread that because the 3rd's arms have the pivot, they don't use the bushing at the chassis end of the arm and therefore use a more solid mounting system and transmit more road noise/vibration through the car.

Actually where the 3rd's mount on the chassis, it actually rotates. Correct there is no bush, but the is a teflon inner sleeve and solid mounting. It's hard to describe, but the drop arms pivot at the clevis joint and rotate at the chassis mount.
Yes the mount does come loose occasionally, but that is from not using a rattle gun and lock tite when doing them up.
