Hi,
Thinking of buying a jimny but not sure how easy they are to mod.
Can someone tell me if you can fit 33's under the guards with out to much drama? Aswell as what off the shelf mods are available?
Any pics of your Jimnys would be appreciated aswell.
thanks in advance,
MARC.

Squik on this board has 32X10.5s with 4 inch springs and 3 inch body lift.
I'm not sure how much cutting was involved though, checkout

marc, you need both body lift and spring lift to fit them (3+4). You will need to cut a wedge out of the guards (rear of front/front rear) about 8cm in width at the bottom narrowing at the top to about 20cm in length.
The metal guard is just folded back which covers the gap beteen body and flare you've just made.
The rear bumper will need to be trimmed - take about 5cm or 2cm below the indicators - and you will need to do the same for the front or fit a bar.
If you are going with 33's, make sure they are wider than 10.5 as there are stability issues onroad with anything narrower. Either that or wheel space them......you will probably need spacers or a better offset for anything wider than 11 so you don't foul anything.
Rockhopper series 1 is recommended fro anything up to 31's, you will need a series 3 or equivelant to run 32's and up....otherwise you will get blown off by motorised skateboards
Without any cutting, 235's will fit with only a 4" suspension lift, 30's with the tiniest amount of rubbing and 215's fit with a 2"suspension lift.

I'd be concerned about axle strength with 33's. Front axle mainly
Either plan to upgrade axles (jimny on lux diffs
) or consider 31's
