it bolts on......you can change the first part (the flange that goes onto the drum)of the drive shaft to the smaller type bolt.
do this by splitting it from the uni....dont just swap it at the slip joint.

For another alternate Matt (Gonads) does a rear discbrake conversion with the handbrake on the rear disc brake calipers, so give him a call this kit might be an option that helps you out. We also sell the spidertrax rear disc & ebrake kits if you are looking for something a little cheaper ://www.spidertrax.com/brakes.htm

Before you go replacing your OEM handbrake, you can save a few busks by setting it up properly in the first place.
1/ Make sure your rear brake lineings have plenty of meat.
2/ Completely back off (loosen) your handbrake cable.
3/ Drive it forwards & backwards 10 or so times, braking firmly each time.
4/ Re-adjust the tension on your handbrake cable and see what you reckon?
I blamed a shitty handbrake set-up on my Sierra for years before I learnt to adjust it properly.

the main reason im replacing it is coz my rear wheel clynders are shot and the drums are over size. Plus all the mud driving ya do in vic kills the drums.

I have a 1ltr case with 1ltr flanges and xfer brake with 1ltr studs. Can I swap the brake hub from a NT onto the 1ltr case? Also is the speedo drive the same. The case is a late 84 with the 4wd light same as a 1.3 case.
cheers
