Just got myself an 86 Patrol SWB SD33T. This is my first Nissan so I am not familiar with the models etc. On the plates it says the model is a KR160 - is this an MK or MQ?

MQ from 80 - late 83
MK from MQ till late 87.
They are the same car just with very light differences.
MQ and MK are identical in parts wise and everything thats in an MK goes in an MQ and visa versa... Main difference is round headlights in MQ and sqaure Headlights in MK.
Yours is an MK. ( but its all the same )

Have a read of this thread:

If you scroll through the links in that, it contains just about every single answer you will ask. Quite a good resource for MQ/MK's.
cheers

Have a look in the trips and tracks section if you're looking to come wheeling with some locals. (if you haven't already)
Plenty of us around, and we need more Nissans and less Zooks!
Thanks for the help guys. I had look in the MQ/MK bible page but couldn't find the specific information (but there is heaps of other info there I will use) - basically screwy's answer was exactly what I was looking for.
Barnsy - Yeah picked it up in Townsville - body, motor, mechanics all in VGC - took my about 8 months to find one though. All the MK LWB I have seen locally are pretty flogged up - or like you say, overpriced. Thats why it took my so long to find one.
Saw the thread about the local run on the 30th, should be able to make it to that.
