When the rocky is in 1st gear and under load, at high revs, it sometimes jumps out of gear. Really starting to p*ss me off, and dangerous when going down steep hills I've had too many near misses because of it.
Has anybody had any similar problems or know how to fix it? I have been told that the only way to fix it is a gear box rebuild and that is too many $$$.

i used to have a sigma with reverse top left - it used to fall out of reverse all the time. I got used to holding the gear stick in reverse. doesn't help with your prob, but it answered your q??

We have an Applause that used to do this in second. If you came into a corner and dropped it back to two and let the engine brake it it would often pop out.

We were also told a gearbox rebuild was the order, but had to replace the clutch before then and somehow it didnt do it with the new clutch, four years on and no sign of it.

have you checked engine and gearbox mounts. this can often cause it. We had problems with our Rocky gearbox. Cost $2200 to rebuild.

Mine does the same in 5th. We figured that the small ball bearing that holds the linkage in place fell out when we pulled the box out.
