Looking at the Scorpion Racing suspension kits, anyone have any experience with these? Looks like two kits, the "evolution" kit lowers the shock mounts about 2-4 inches as well as bent trailing arms and dropout cones. This seems to be a reasonable way getting more droop but might be a bit tippy at the rear.
The "extreme" kit raises the shock mounts and uses way longer shocks and custom springs (as well as the retaining cones and bent trailing arms) This gives lots of droop but the back axle drops so far it looks like the vehicle would be extremely tippy.
As I don't do rockcrawling, I figure the "evolution" kit might do fine. Keeping the existing shocks and springs would save $$$$ and if I get 100mm additional droop all round that would probably be enough for me. As I'm running bigger tyres (up to 35s) on the 90 I've already had to increase the size of the bumpstops and lost some up travel so moving the shocks down doesn't seem to have a downside.
The bit I can't figure out is the front shock turrets. I thought the limiting factor on droop at the front was the bushing bind, so I'm not sure what dropping the front shocks will do.
Details on the kits are at http://www.scorpion-racing.co.uk/html/products.html

Scorpion gear is way over priced for what you get.
Evolution is around 2.5K and around 5K for the extreme.
Regards Michael.

In NZ the evolution is 2.3k and the extreme 6.7! I'm all ears for better options - is anyone making shock mounts, trailing arms etc in Aussie?

Hi lowbox , as Michael stated there are a whole lot of guys running systems that are better than the "off the shelf" systems out there ! I believe Madrangie for instance has had made a better Aframe , others have made bent trailing arms , Big balls have adaptors so you can run eye to eye shocks on the rear , Rovertym in the US has some great radius arms and various ideas , www.rovertym.com , and even with the exchange rate your better off than most "off the shelf " set ups .
For 10 inches of travel can you justify the cost .$2.5k or $5k ....or can you do it cheaper and attain more to what you desire ???? Calbah do a 3 link front end and so does Safarigard in the US [ i thunk theirs is a 5 link ] holy bushes are another way to go in the front end . Kevin Bowers in Arizona has fantastic trav and did everything himself , except for the shiney monkies [ fox shox ] in the back end everything is basic [ K.I.S.S.] keep it simple stupid princible , i guess im saying dont buy on hype do a bit of home work and you will have enough money left over to fill your tank with fuel so you can enjoy your RR ! HTH

Recipe for long travel on a 100" Coil LR:
Front:
OME 764 springs
OME N73 shocks
Polybush Blue bushes
Extended steel brakelines
Strange Rover's "hollow bushes" (soon)
Rear:
OME 762 springs
1" spacer (optional - I may have them)
OME N76 shocks
Custom Made lower shock mounts (home made)
HD lower spring retainers (I use EE)
upper cone system for srping (I use RTE)
Custom rear kinked trailing arm (home made)
Polybush Blue bushes
Extended steel brakelines
With the above set-up, you will be able to slap 33" narrow tires without any major cutting, and have an RTI on a 30 degree ramp close to 700. Components are off the shelf should you need to replace for ANY reason. Bump stop extension varies to tire use.
Good luck
