You know the type that go from the bull-bar at the front and continue along the step with the checker plate top.
What are they like out in the bush?
How much protection do they offer?
Are they just anchors waiting to stop you?
What other options are out there for around the same price offering similar protection for a LWB Patrol

Had a set on a 60 series and they saved the sills from damaged a number of times. When I had a 100 series I waited and ended bending and nearly destoying the aluminum steps.
Spend the money on a good set of steps wether it be ARB or a set of sliders.

Mine have been dragged over heaps of stuff, and not a bend in them, cause they mount on your bull bar as well, I reckon they are less prone to flexing up and into doors and front wheel guards, as I've seen a lot of custom rock sliders do

I have witnessed a mates GQ take a beting with these side rails on, and they saved his panels many times. But i do like the sliders for strength.

I made my own

I would make sure they are solid and not just some fancy looking alloy if you are going to lean on them (even more so if you are going to play hard).

You can get alloy ones like those above? Sounds a bit silly.
