hey guys, i've just bought the family gq wagon. the power steering box is leaking REALLY badly from both the input and output shaft seals. has anyone put a kit through a box (if they are available) or even just replaced the seals??? just hoping i don't have to replace the entire box!!
thanks

I THINK the O-ring is available for the sector shaft. Have you got a large enough spanner and puller to remove the pitman arm though?
The input shaft seal is part of the worm unit--i dont THINK its available seperatly.Check with Nissan dealer.

Had a quote for mine here in Sydney for $300 for a complete reco job.
The biggest problem I was told is associated with wear on the input shaft etc. Was told if they are too badly worn it would need to be re-chromed. Simply replacing the seals would only reduce the overall problem.
