R380 oil cooler adapter....

Is this a straight unbolt the existing alloy plate, bolt up the adaptor/t.stat assembly ?
On the 40*C+ days we've been having, the Redline MTL (10.2 cSt @ 100*C) is getting a little thin and the shift quality is deteriorating. I had the same problem when running the slighly heavier Castrol Syntrans (11.6 cSt @ 100*C) although overall I think it shifted a little better.
I'm going to mix a 50/50 brew of MTL/MT90 for the short term, which will give me around 12.5 cSt @ 100*, or go straight MT90 which is 14.7cSt, but I think the only real fix is add the oil cooler.
I priced one from a wrecker before chrissy off a TD5, but was a bit taken aback by the price, so a ring around is in order.
Rick.
