after market fuel TANK ?'s

i recived my new fuel cell today. Alumimium foam filled.
Just wondering on the exact way to hook it up. it has two fittings for lines coming out the bottom of the tank, i assume that these are both fuel output lines. it also has two fittings for line in the top. I am running an EFI vitara engine. The cell has no sender for a level. could i set the cell up useing just one output line and using on of the top lines for the return. then put a clear line between the other output and the other line on top so that i have a level indicator, or do i have to use the other line on top for a breather?
also as the fuel output lines are at the bottom on one side, should i mount these pointing towards the front or the rear. if the fuel drains(when low on fuel) to one end of the tank during a climb or a decent, am i better off running out of fuel while going uphill or down? this is in a worst case situation.
