Squeaky Drive Shaft

Just recently rebuilt and strengthened rear tail shaft...would recommend Hardy Spicer at Moorebank....but the centre bearing assembly squeaks as the shaft spins!

I've only done about 40km's so far and it doesn't seem to be disappearing or getting worse. HS have never heard of it happening before. I'm going to take it down to them, but I can't get there until Monday.

Anyone experienced this before?

if its squealin it could be ur dust cover touching, take it back or give it a pry with a screw driver.

yep, sounds like the dust cover. The cover will spin on the shaft (without touching anything) causing a squeel. Fit a shim under the dust cover - can make it out of a tin can. This will require the full dissassembly of the two shafts and bearing to get to the dust cover.
