Can I unbolt it and pull all of the internals of then bolt it back on or do I need to get a plate made up to cover the hole and remove it completly.
It is a TB42 GQ.

They're a sealed unit so can't be pulled apart.

Plate the hole. We do it the first chance we get on our fleet of forks.

Are you running a carby TB42 ? Ive been thinking about getting rid of my mech fuel pump and replace with a electric.

Yep carby. It is on full time Gas so it just taps away with potential to leak and or shatter.

I put a plate on my TB42 Mav when I had it.
I used an electric pump switched on thru a relay from the petrol/gas solenoid .
For the outlet of the pump I used a "T" with the return to the tank line reduced to about 1/2mm with an old brass fuel jet soldered into the "T".
