lifted up my gq another inch with packers, over the already lifted 2", to a total of 3", and it made the car a bit darty all over the road. put in a 2" bodylift, and it then was all over the road, not really bad, but annoying, cos you can't relax while driving, you always had to be there to correct the steering.
fitted a return to centre steering stabiliser, and it has all gone away!!
drives like a new car!!
still have to get a wheel alignment, as it was last adjusted for the 2" lift, not the 3" lift.
now I can look at fitting my 36" TSL's

I would imagine the main issue would have been castor correction and the steering damper has just disguised the symptoms. Not sure why the body lift would have made this worse but maybe higher COG could have made the symptoms more prominant.

Just an educated guess though ...

I think you are quite accurate in you guess. the COG did make the biggest difference, as i also fitted a roofrack.

Lifting my GU 3" has made it "wander" a little but being a ute I think hides it a bit better with less weight but castor is still on the cards to get fixed when I can spare the $$$.
