can anyone recommend some gearbox and diff mechanics that they have had good/bad experiences with in the past?

I *think* i need my rear (of gearbox/transfer) seals replaced and would prefer to go to someone whos had a good rap than someone I haven't heard of at all..

so far ive located a place at the gabba.bne.qld.au and lined up a quick quote (drive over at lunch for a look-see underneath) for sometime this week. i reckon id feel a bit better knowing theyd service someone well in the past than risking it with a total stranger.

Oh yeah and it would preferably need to be on a bus/train line in the Brisbane metro area, closer to the CBD the better.

thanks for your help! :)

do it yourself, its not a hard job, that way you dont have to trust a stranger and you get satisfaction out of it

And end up loosing hair, bleeding, pissed of and sweaty (its hot in QLD)and then have to go in the end to get something done by the "professionals" anyway, like preload in the diffs or something!

Pre post edit - Sorry, Bit of overkill but i think i make my point. Pay the $$ then if it flogs out go back and kick heads. You dont want to be out the back of bum.... and something goes wrong cause you didn't have the tech knowledge or experience. :D

there was no mention of diffs, just transmition seals, secondly experiance only comes with experience, you dont gain it buy taking it to a shop (although that would be nice)
