I just spent $700 fixing the head and other hoses and bits and pieces on my vitara and isn't any better than before
I thought about doing a com v6 conversion. A com v6 and sas would be awsome.
If you can do the conversion yourself it'd be worth it but would cost a small fortune to have a shop do it.

hey huggy
id stick with the 2.5 litre
its all alloy vs al cast iron
prob more than twice the 2.5 weight
would be cheeper to bebuild your 2.5
than buying a v6 buick rebuilding it buying adaptor kit for VIT
etc etc
than upgrading brake n suspension to stop the extra waight up front
fight the demands in you head.
