Fuel tanks and pumps?

Does anybody know 100% if a fuel pump out of a v6 4 runner will bolt into the tank from a 2.8? Or if the pump wont bolt in to the 2.8 tank will the whole 4 runner tank with pump bolt in to a ln106 single cab.

Now I know the fuel tank out of a 2.8 hilux has no baffles or serge tank built into it but does the V6 4 runner tank have a surge tank built into it or does it run an external surge tank or nothing.

I`m up to the stage where I have to decide what I am going to do for fuel tank and pump.

Another option I have is to just run a external fuel pump like VL or early VN has (the high presser external one not the low presser internal one that some of them have aswell). Like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW

Spent some time this arvo at bursons (most helpfull) the VL/VN external pump is basicly the same (specs) as the current internal crummydore pump and most of them (efi 6, v6, v8) use the same pump, the v6 4 runner pump also has very simalar specs (some specs higer some slightly lower but stuff all) to the vl/vn pump. Now I know a few people have used the vl pump successfully to feed a 1uz. But I would prefer to just bolt an internal (can`t get damaged) pump in to my tank hense the V6 4 runner pump.

Now for the big shock, bursons wanted $300 for either the runner pump or the vl/vn pump  I said fark that I`ll get one from a wreck, but my best mate can get one brand new from them for approx $150

Anyway give me your thoughts etc.

No and No
No the v6 4runner pump will not fit 106 tank
No the 4 runner tank will not fit into a 106
but saying that with engenuity you can make anything fit
I have found swirl pots in some 1993 RN 106 petrol models

When I made my surge tank for my 3.8 I used a datsun lift pump and a VL injection pump. They run the same pump on the injected Camira's, my wreckers had $75 all you can carry and I got 2 of each and a heap of other stuff. I made my own surge tank and it was quite easy, only outsourcing for the TIG welding. I would reconsider using a surge tank as they are easy to make and you get to have a factory tak and mounts that are tuff.

Dane, who made that tank for you and what is its capacity? what sort of cost is something like that? - PM me if you prefer. I am looking for something like that for my lux with 4 link rear.
