Im after a turbo for my lux and there are a few on here that sound ok but i want to know if they will fit my 5L
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Gavin

i'm not too familiar with hilux motors but we've fitted a few turbo's off different motors and as long as you have the stuff in your shed to make adaptors you can do anything. if the turbo is too small (exhaust side) it will lift your exhaust temp too high and increase fuel consumption, but it should boost up quicker. if the turbo is too big it wont boost untill high revs which is crap on a diesel. i think a turbo off a small motor designed for low revs will make a motor twice the size and revs go worse.save some cash and get the right turbo for the job. i learnt the hard way. it was still fun though

would at most .6 of a litre in engine capacity make such a great poblem as there are plenty of turbos of 2.4s getting about it just a matter of them bolting on or not

Both 2Ls and 3Ls are naturally aspirated, so it is unlikely anyone has done this swap.
Now if you were wondering about the CT-20 from a 2L-T, there are much better turbo units to use for a swap.

The turbo off a 2.4 TD will fit the 2.8, i think there is 1 bolt hole in the manifold that needs to be redrilled for it to line up on the block.
If your going to use the CT-20, spend the money on getting it hi-flowed... it will perform allot better!
