Leaded or Unleaded

Post by giffo »

I have been told that my MQ L28 can be run on unleaded fuel. Is this correct and how do I find out if my motor is the right one for unleaded?

I run mine on both. I use about two tanks of unleaded to 1 tank of LRP. When i spoke to mechanics they said they wewre in the era of changing over to unleaded. They say run both to make sure.
Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)

Leaded is DEAD

The last LEADED fuel is being transported as we speak (So they say). Within the next few months there will be no LEADED. So what do we do then besides additives?

Almost any japanese built engine made after 1973 will run fine on unleaded. There are very few models that cant and most of them are hi-po models.

I ran my datto L series motors on unleaded and LPG for years with no dramas...

Well thats good to know. I just worry about valve stem seals etc. They do need lubrication to stop seals perishing though.

THANKS
