PULP & TB42

Post by blkmav »

Besides cost is there any downside to running a TB42 on PULP?

For that matter is there any benefit?

when i used to own the little sierra i ran it on optimax and found that the extra mileage i was getting out of it actually made up for the difference in price. came out better sometimes so was actually cheaper buying the more expensive fuel. more power as well

but i think i remember hearing somewhere that optimax is shit anyway, i wouldn't have thought so from my experiences just something i heard

I've heard that optimax is not so much a bad fuel but the cleansing agents in it can leave deposits on spark plugs, this is more revelent on bikes (a mate of mines bike mechanic told him this) seeing they spin up to 10-12,000 rpm, not so much of a issue on a tb42.

I think it depends who you talk to..

sorta like petrol V diesel or auto/manual or yota/nissna

some swear they gain 1000kw at the exhaust tip from the stuff.... others say they get more klms from a tank. but nobody ever says that its a waste of bucks.

hey i here that the premium unleaded @ BP and possibly caltex has actual more octane than optimax.

a few mates of mine are into sports cars and sports car forum are constantly doing tests on fuel's to see which is best.

cheers

Yep the Audi has been feeding on BP Ultimate all it's life and it's a great fuel.

A fringe benefit of buying a new Black Ti Patrol is that my fuel card will say 'black patrol'. Do you think the cashier at the petrol station can tell which black patrol the card is for?

i like it

when i run my car on petrol i generally used mobile, bp, or caltex PULP. i have been told some reports to not use optimax. and when ever petrol goes into the fuel tank, its always PULP, except and Licola and places of the like

I like Ultimate the best and my TB42 seems to run better on it too.

When I had my GenIII I had Optimax, Ultimate, and mobil 8000 on the dyno. Mobil and BP came out the best but there seem to be less and less Mobil stations around.
