Wassabi guys,

I havent been over here in a whille so I figured I would shoot over and see how things are going. The vibes more friendly any ways lol.

My engine is almost rebuilt... and I would like to shoot myself. Would have been better off just to put a used or rebuilt engine.... would have been as nice, but this got way to costly... way too quick.

Will be nice to have the truck done though... even though I have to pickup a 3rd job.

Hows things shaking with u guys.

Yeah good thanks Dougie.
I'll be doing a very interesting mod tomorrow that may interest a few people. I'll post pics (Trail Talk as well) when we are finished.
Within the next 4 weeks the front Detroit will be in, body lift done and 35" on if all goes to plan after that will be some sliders and custom bashplates.
So some serious Bishi bashing is on the cards

You know, I would be all over one of those detroits, even if I had to swap in a v6 diff.

The problem is 1. I bought that from 5.29 from Lloyd (which is getting dusty in my garage), and 2. I am moving further up north, more snow, more weather. I couldnt compromise the 4wd driving.

I understand Dougie.
However ARB are going ahead with the front airlocker they won't announce it officially until it's on the shelves ready to buy, they are telling me by the end of the year. The only option you have if you want the 5.29's is to swap in a 8" Gen 1 V6 front diff and axle tube (very easy). Then you can get the front 5.29 (same as Lloyd's) and will be able to fit the ARB locker as well. You will loose your CAD but will still have 4x4 on bitumen capability, just have to lock the manual hubs in first. You will also have a bigger/stronger front diff. The Gen 1 & 2 3.0 V6 rear 5.29's are still both the same part (heaps in stock). If you keep your small front diff (even with the 5.29) you will not have a locker option other than a Lincoln. You should be able to sell your small 5.29 to pay for the bigger one.
When the 35's go on I'll be seriously assessing this option.
I'll let you in on a secret, there are 14 Gen 1 V6 front 5.29's left in stock in Japan and thats it (no more production after they are sold), my dealer says he can get them.
Food for thought dude............................

I wish, but it doesnt make any sense for them to do so. It would probally fit the 8 inch... that the 3.5s, 3.0 gen I, and 3.0 Manuals use.

Yes your right Doug the airlocker will only be for the Gen 1, 2 & 3 8" front diff, not enough sales to justify one for the smaller diff as well.
The cost of the Gen 1 8" 5.29 front crownwheel & pinion set is around $600 Aus but my dealer has to get them from Japan now (about 2 weeks) as the last one in Oz I bought for Kev in Hawaii.

I am trying to think if it would make sense to sell the 5.29's I bought of Lloyd... and buy 5.29's for the genI. Nah.... fawk it. I will buy 5.29's for both. LOL

I start my fulltime job again in may... so I should be buying atleast the rear 5.29's soon.
