Hi guys

Considering putting either climax shackles or extended shackles what would u guys recommend

it's an 81 lux and am finding with the alli tray on the back that i'm not getting enough travel out of the back end. also going to go softer springs cause they r the standard at the moment.

Any sugestions would be good

Cheers
Yvonne

a few people round here think that the climax type shackles are a bit of a gimmick, and can unload at inopertune times, upsetting the balance of the rig through certain sections.

don't go too long on the shackle extensions, can cause driveline issues. remember, 2 inches of shackle extension = about 1 inch lift. extended shackles are cheap and easy.

oh and if your not planning on loading it to the gills, pull the overload spring ( short fat one at the bottom of the spring pack) to soften things up a bit.

I had climax shackles and they sucked. They often wouldn't open when the vehicle wanted to articulate one one side only because they don't really allow any twist in the hinge.

The only time they would always work was dropping the whole axle :x

Superior engineering shackles are a far superior design if you must use drop shackles but have you though about mazda/ ifs rears like heaps of luxes on here :?:
