Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Has anyone had any experience with these hyclones [ they go in the air intake tube and create a better air fuel mix ] suppost to give better fuel economy and better performance ,yes i know its only a 3b in the truck but any little bit can help right ? other than a turbo of course ,there priced at $170 any other info would be good

I used to think that they might have done something - my dad tried one on his truck and he reckons economy went up slightly.

But after reading their website, it's just total BS.

A lot of bullshit on there, the best one is:

Anyone with a high school level of chemistry knowledge should know that gases mix regardless of what they are. It's called diffusion:

Diffusion refers to the process by which molecules intermingle as a result of their kinetic energy of random motion. Consider two containers of gas A and B separated by a partition. The molecules of both gases are in constant motion and make numerous collisions with the partition. If the partition is removed as in the lower illustration, the gases will mix because of the random velocities of their molecules. In time a uniform mixture of A and B molecules will be produced in the container.

The tendency toward diffusion is very strong even at room temperature because of the high molecular velocities associated with the thermal energy of the particles.

At room temp, gases have a high level of entropy, in engine bay temps they'd be going nuts.

Obviously you can't write a whole product off on one thing they've said, but if you really wanted to you could pick the website to bits.

I actually removed my engine completely and just set up a massive hyclone in the engine bay. Works a treat for speeds up to 300kph, using the same principles as a turbine jet engine.

Problem is I have to always park it on a hill so I can roll start the thing to get it up to speed.

Have one in the wifes frontera. Was ther when I bought it. I took it out and worked out mileage from a tank of fuel and got 13.2ltr/100km with A/C on the whole tank and put it back in. Driving was the same for both tanks and got 12.8ltr/100km. would I pay $170 for this difference. NO. but since it came with the car I can't really complain. As for power I didn't notice any difference at all. By the way this was all road driving, the wifes car donsn't even go into H4 or over anything more than a dirt road.

the big hiclones work well in toilets they get the water spinnin faster for those with big turds..

I drive a Mitsubishi Pajero NA 2.5 TD and I have got two hicolnes plus an ITG performance air filter. For me, it made a little bit of a difference, but barely noticeable. It is my understanding that they make a little bit of difference in the diesels, but not difference whatsoever in the petrols. For me, I cant prove it, but it probably made a barely noticeable difference to my car's fuel economy.

i've seen dyno reads of befor and after the fitment of a hyclon to a few cars
on a landcruiser with a 1HZ after the fitment power droped by 4HP and there for can not return better feul economy.

An AU falcon 6CYL after fitment there was no change in power and there for can not return beter feulk economy.

and petrol hilux again a drop in power was found.


to get an increase in economy you must have an increase in power with out adding more fuel and as shown by the dyno there was no power increase, and in 2 out of 3 there was a power drop so economy would be worse on those cars

methane injection works better u stick a hose up your ass & fart it causes
better combustion and if u mount your hose right a cyclone effect aswell
